Aşağı Çiyanlı İlkokulu Welcomed Europe…

Aşağı Çiyanlı Ş. Ahmet Birkaç İlkokulu has been carrying out the Erasmus Project “4C’s: Learning 4 Tomorrow” granted under the call for Proposals of European Union Erasmus + Program School Exchange Partnerships. Between the dates November 10-16, the school hosted the teachers and principals from 6 partner schools from Portugal, Lithuania, Finland, Spain and Italy and the joint staff meeting of the project was held.

For the project team of 10 teachers, a big welcome was made at the school on the first day of the program. The Sumbas YIBO folk dances team, which was prepared by Celal Karslı, received great admiration and guest teachers danced halay with the students. Prepared by school teacher Hatice Kocatürk Pala, whirling dervishes received great applause. The team toured the school and the classrooms, chatted with the students and had the opportunity to compare the educational systems of the countries.
Within the program, the team had some visits to Kadirli, Karatepe, City Museum, Hatay, Adana and Tarsus. Visiting the historical and cultural places of the city, the team did both shopping and met rich Turkish cuisine. The team found the opportunity to do Ebru, a traditional Turkish art, accompanied by art teacher Muhammet Ülger.

Project coordinator Canan Karadere, school principal Harun Bayazıtoğlu and school teachers Cavit Koçer and Hatice Kocatürk Pala accompanied the team during the program. The final program of the project ended with the speech of İlyas Tapsız, the head of Education Department in Kadirli, and the presentation of the certificates. School Director Harun Bayazıtoğlu stated that the kick- off meeting of the project was successful and that the guests had the opportunity to get to know our culture and our region with the welcome, activities and visits, and that the gala dinner of the project was the scene of emotional moments. Bayazıtoğlu said that this project is a source of pride for our school and teachers and that they have already started preparations for the second Erasmus projects TRUST KIDS for guests coming from Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain and Greece between 24-29 November.
