International Mother Tongue Day

Talking to someone

in a language he/she understands,

it means talking to his brain.

Speak to him / her in the mother tongue,

means “reach his heart“.

Nelson Mandela

It was proclaimed by the General Conference of the O.N.U in November 1999. Since 2000 it has been celebrated every year to promote linguistic and cultural diversity. On the occasion of the international day of the “MOTHER TONGUE”, our Institute IC PASCOLI-CENTO has promoted initiatives aimed at knowing, recognizing and enhancing the language of ALL CHILDREN. We did it in different ways … “inviting” parents and grandparents to meet, in distance way, to give children a little story, a nursery rhyme in their mother tongue: different accents and sounds, but which all tell the joy and the discovery, the adventure, fear and courage.
