4C in Action in Atlantic

From the 8th to the 12th of November 2021, we held our meeting in Portugal, 4C in Action in Atlantic as a way to 21st Century Success. It was with great pleasure that EB1/PE da Marinheira welcomed the partners from Lithuania, Finland, Italy, Spain and Turkey.

On the first day, the partners were received at the school with the traditional dance Bailinho da Madeira. This was followed by a musical performance by a student who performed the Hymn of Joy, by Beethoven, on the saxophone. Finally, the philharmonic band Os Infantes presented all with some traditional songs.

After a visit to the school, the participants were then welcomed by the Mayor of Câmara de Lobos and, after lunch, they visited the city and some of its tourist sites.

On the second day, in the morning, there was a visit to the Innovative Learning Environments room, where partners were able to attend a lecture on the methodologies and tools used in a multidisciplinary approach to teaching, using technology.

On the third day of the meeting, the morning was spent visiting Pico do Areeiro and in the afternoon we visited the Ribeira Primeira Park where we fished for trout, had lunch, and before arriving to Funchal we visited the Cristo Rei monument.

On the fourth day, we took a catamaran tour that offered the possibility of observing the south coast of the Island from the sea.

In the afternoon, we held a workshop entitled “The 4C’s as a way to promote 21st century skills“.

In the evening, we held the certificate delivery ceremony.

On the fifth and last day of the meeting, we held a work meeting, attended the traditional Magusto (Saint Martin Day) where we roasted chestnuts and sang some traditional songs. Before lunch, we visited the viewpoint of Eira do Serrado, where we could observe the village of Curral das Freiras.

Learning 4 Tomorrow

is a project that focuses on cooperation and exchange of good practices between schools. The main goal of the project is to promote 4C’s (Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration and Communication). The project unites primary schools from LithuaniaFinlandItalySpainTurkey and Portugal.
